Extra-curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities vary and are offered according to the season.

The school enjoys an enviable position in sports. Netball, football, athletics and basketball function with excellent results in local leagues. We have many budding athletes amongst us some of whom are already being recognised professionally in their chosen field.

We have 3 first class children's choirs and an adult choir comprising of staff, parents and friends of New City.

We also have an orchestra which includes strings, brass, percussion, recorders, piano and cellos to name but a few! We have many links with Newham Academy of Music and Academy teachers visit our school for weekly lessons. There are weekly music clubs. The orchestra is open to all children who play an instrument in or out of school. We also have places for singers (years 3-6). We welcome help from parents, especially those who play instruments to any standard. We are led by a team from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and we perform regularly.

We are renowned for, and are very proud of, the high standard of our regular school productions.

There are also many other activities on offer such as Drama, French, Chess, Lego, Cycling, Speech and Drama, English Extension, Games, Rounders to name but a few!!
