Welcome to New City. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website.

We are a school with high expectations and aspirations for all our pupils. New City is a happy and exciting learning community that nurtures all pupils to achieve to be the best they can be.

Our Curriculum is rich in the delivery of basic skills as well as the mastery and application of knowledge.

The learning environment celebrates and reflects the high emphasis we place on the creative arts, sciences and sports to enrich the learning experience. All of our children are encouraged to learn a musical instrument.

We aim to reflect the diversity of the community we serve through strong and powerful community cohesion with high parental involvement. We also promote an understanding of citizenship and British values through school visits to central London, rural and coastal areas.

We encourage parental involvement in our learning through parent workshops that reflect the needs of all children and parents from online-safety to phonics and healthy eating

We offer a large selection of after school clubs including booster and one to one tuition to ensure that all children meet their full potential.

You are more than welcome to come and visit and look around this amazing place.

Kindest Regards

Caroline Stone, Head Teacher

Re: New City Outreach Centre

New City Primary School has delivered Children’s Centre services through the New City Outreach Centre on behalf of the Local Authority for many years, alongside their own provision for their students, and has been a valued partner in supporting families with young children. Unfortunately, due to the Government’s Academy programme and the conversion of NewCity to an Academy, the historic funding arrangement between New City and the Local Authority cannot continue. This is as an Academy is a private organisation and not considered to be part of the Local Authority, so under E.U. regulations the Local Authority cannot provide funding under the same arrangement. The Outreach Centre will not be included in the conversion of the school to an academy and will be separated from the school, remaining under the Local Authority.

New City will continue to deliver the same services for students (breakfast club, afterschool club etc.) by relocating those services into the rest of the school site; this includes the resources currently within the Outreach Centre. The Outreach Centre will continue to be used to deliver early years services for families with children under 5 as part of the Best Start in Life programme, including Children’s Centre services. Services will not resume immediately at the Outreach Centre, as some works may be required to separate the site from the school.

The Local Authority’s Best Start in Life programme aims to continue to work with New City to support families with children under 5.

If families have any questions in regards to the Outreach Centre or Best Start in Life services, they can email BSiL@newham.gov.uk or contact Jason Eustice, the Children’s Centre Commissioner, on 020 3373 2981.
